Indigenous Family Liaison staff build parental/caregiver resiliency by focusing on the family unit and fostering family wellness. Staff enhance the family’s capacity to support the growth and development of all members of the family by:
- Serving as ‘sweepers’ for Indigenous families by clearing the obstacles out of their way to ensure they are comfortable seeking and receiving support services.
- Providing cultural relevant and appropriate resources to caregivers related to the stages of child development, parenting skills and other knowledge for fosteringhealthy family development.
- Supporting families where they live by providing mobile, flexible and culturally appropriate supports and services.
